Heart Tattoos
Heart tattoos have always been popular, from their days on the arms of sailors like Popeye to proud husbands and those commemorating a loved one. The sailors typically wore the red-colored heart tattoos with the word “Mom” written in the center while the soldiers involved in the outbreak of the World War II were conventionally seen with heart tattoos with the names of their wives or girlfriends inscribed in them. The heart shape is often associated with love and romance and is popular amongst those who are married or have children.
On the flipside, the heart can depict the love for a dearly departed family member or lost friend. The heart shape is not intrusive nor is it too masculine, hearts tattoos can often be found on both sexes. Due to their attractive image, heart tattoos are often generally more acceptable in society where tattooing is still a taboo.

Heart tattoos come in all shapes and sizes, colours and forms. Many encorporate the simple design into complex tattoos with lettering and other images to create something distinctive and unique.
Heart tattoos can often be linked to spiritual beliefs and have a culture significance. Religious symbols and icons are often a popular choice for tattoos, much like the heart. Hearts can be viewed upon as a symbol of sacrifice or strength.
The beauty of a heart tattoo is that it can be placed almost anywhere on the body without being too intrusive, providing the design is note huge. Further to that, the shape and colours can be manipulated to depict love or strength, happiness or grief.
